Background and Objectives: The present study aims to investigate the application of Aker’s Spider Web Curriculum Model in designing a phenomenon-based learning curriculum at Farhangian University. By utilizing the components of Aker’s model, this research seeks to analyze and redesign various dimensions of phenomenon-based curricula for the education of future teachers. Methods The present study is applied in terms of purpose, qualitative in nature, and field in terms of data collection method. The statistical population includes 20 experts and professors of Farhangian University in West and East Azerbaijan provinces, as well as curriculum planning specialists, who were selected through purposive sampling of criterion-based type until theoretical saturation was reached. The data collection tool was semi-structured interviews with experts. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis, and concepts were categorized both through direct extraction from live data and by analyzing commonalities.
Findings: In the qualitative section, 10 main themes and 28 sub-themes were obtained. Also, the results obtained from the validity of the phenomenon-based curriculum model indicate that this model has appropriate validity overall for Farhangian University. These themes specifically describe the various processes of learning, teaching, assessment, and the required infrastructure with precision and complete detail. Conclusion: The findings suggest that Aker’s Spider Web Model provides a coherent and efficient framework for designing phenomenon-based learning curricula at Farhangian University. Implementing this model can enhance the alignment between objectives, content, learning activities, teacher roles, and assessment, thereby improving the effectiveness of teacher education programs.
